Shaw Veterinary Clinic provides nutritional products such as Hill's prescription diets & Science Diet pet foods. If your pet requires a specific Hill's food, we can order the item on Monday and have your pet's food by the end of the week. Shaw Veterinary Clinic carries a limited supply of Royal Canin foods but we can order specific foods for you.
The examination rooms of Shaw Veterinary Clinic are constructed with your comfort in mind. They are spacious to accommodate all sizes of pets. If you need assistance bringing your pet into the office, just give us a call to tell us you are on your way and will require some help. We can meet you outside to assist you and your pet into our office. We offer a complete line of shampoos and medications to treat your pet's illness. Adequate client education is of utmost importance and we routinely offer pamphlets explaining various diseases along with information about preventative medications. We even have some samples of Hill's Pet Food for puppies and kittens.
We offer in house laboratory testing with the most up-to-date blood analyzing equipment. With our laboratory equipment, we can obtain a CBC which gives us your pet's Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell count along with a Metabolic Profile to assess your pet liver and kidney function within a few hours. We can also perform thyroid testing in our lab, but do send some tests to our reference laboratory.
If your pet is in need of bathing, trimming a little hair, or a complete groom, Mallari can take care of those needs. She will discuss how you prefer your pet's hair to be trimmed & examine your pet thoroughly. If she notices any problems, she will alert the doctors to her concerns. We offer medicated baths for those pets with skin issues. We offer grooming on an appointment basis throughout the week. Our pet lodging has central heat & air conditioning. We typically have plenty of room but do have limited space for larger dogs and recommend making reservations especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Lesley Woodard will be present at the front desk to greet you upon arrival or answer the phone to help you with your needs. Lesley will assist with your appointments and answer questions regarding your pet's health care. She keeps our office organized and efficient. She also assists the doctors in treating your pets while they are hospitalized, receiving medical care, and undergoing surgery. Lesley shares her home with her two dogs Molly and Chica along with her special Boxer named Bender. Lesley is a great resource to answer questions about your pet's health care.
We offer a wide variety of surgical options for dogs and cats ranging from the common spaying, neutering, and dental procedures to some orthopedic surgeries. LeAlyson Bailey assists the doctors with surgery and monitors your pet's vital signs while undergoing surgical procedures. If your pet requires more expertise than we are able to provide, we may refer you and your pet to a veterinary specialist. With our digital radiography unit, we can email your pet's radiographs to a specialist for a second opinion and acquire an estimate of costs for specialized procedures.
Drs. Roger & Donna Shaw met while attending veterinary school at Louisiana State University. In June of 1983, they opened Shaw Veterinary Clinic beginning their practice together. Their oldest daughter Heather and her husband Adam live in Trumann where they share their home with two dogs named Louie & Luna along with a cat named Sly. Heather is a high school History teacher working at Marked Tree. Their middle daughter Jennifer, an accountant, resides in Maumelle and is the assistant to the CFO of Westrock Coffee. Jennifer shares her home with two cats named Chester & Spritter along with a Black Labrador named Ridley. Their youngest daughter Stephanie and her husband Jake live in Guam where he is serving in the United States Navy. Stephanie received her Master of Science in Marine Science from Hawaii Pacific University and spent a few months at the beginning of 2017 in Wales working as a research intern for the Sea Watch Foundation monitoring cetaceans in Cardigan Bay.
